Line

A series of acts happen where babies disappear and the investigative cop gets to the cause but is not able to frame him. What is the reason for his acts forms the essence.

Story

The Special Task Force (STF) is faced with a challenge and that is the series of incidents wherein nine month pregnant women are having deliveries forcibly and their babies are disappearing. The team assigns the task to Venkat (Ravi Babu) who comes along with his team mate (sindoora) and others to catch hold of the accused. They manage to come up with one arrest and he (tarakaratna) and he doesn’t give a word but acts strangely. Even stranger is the fact that despite him being inside the cell, the baby disappearances still happen. Finally, Venkat discovers a truth and the danger reaches his home when his own pregnant wife Latha (Sneha) will be in the list of becoming a victim. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Artistes and technicians

Ravi Babu has done justice to his role with his act and he has shouldered it very well. Bhumika looks cute but her role is very limited and brief. Sneha does justice to her bit and Sindoora looks elegant and sensuous. Full marks go to Tarakaratna for coming up with an impressive act. Subhashini was alright, Raghava was regular, Kota was quick and Paruchuri made his presence felt for one scene. The others added value by doing their bit well. The director has come up with an interesting concept but then he could not get it to the full voltage due to weak narration and somewhat erratic presentation. The dialogues were dull, the script had flaws, the screenplay was strong. Background score was the major minus point in terms of its timing. For every small thing, loud noises were roaring which made it very annoying for the audience, no songs in this one, cinematography was effective, editing was average, stunts were standard, costumes were over hyped, art department was apt.

Highlights

  • Cinematography
  • Tarakaratna’s performance
  • Bhumika and Sneha
  • Technical aspects

 Drawbacks

  • Interrupting and loud background score
  • artificial environment like STF and their dressing
  • erratic script
  • weak dialogues

 First half and second half

First half is boring with loud background score and repetitive stuff, second half gets interesting and takes you smoothly to the end.

 Report

The film runs on the lines of science and also psychotic elements. This made the concept quite engaging but then such things require finesse and depth to give the right kind of impact on the audience. There are many places where the fear quotient could have been increased in a big way but that didn’t happen due to poor technical aspects. The masses don’t have anything in this except for the chills, family audience may not want to go for the gory aspects but overall, it is a film good in parts and not every engaging to make it a thriller.
