Sending Money to India
POSB Remittance Centre is a facility brought to you by ICICI Bank in association with DBS Bank, Singapore. This centre allows you to send money to India through specific branches. This remittance centre would accept instructions for remitting money to India for both customers as well as non-customers of POSB/DBS and ICICI Bank.
EASY – fill up a simple Remittance Instruction Form and hand over the same along with cash at the counter. Alternatively, for POSB/ DBS customers the deposit slip can be mailed through a self addressed envelope provided by the Remittance Centre
FAST – InstaTransfer remittances credited within 3 working hours. SpeedTransfer remittances paid to beneficiary on next working day (account credited or DD issued) Money can be transferred by Debit to a POSB / DBS account or by NETS.i.e. you have an option of a cash-less transaction

Indian Overseas Bank: The first Indian bank to commence operations in Singapore, IOB had set shop in February 1941. It offers full range of banking services with specialization in retail banking services, remittance services, trade finance services and credit services.

- Savings Bank accounts can be opened by individuals either singly or in joint names
- Savings Bank account can be opened in SGD and USD

- Interest is paid half yearly in the months of June/December at prevailing rate
- Cash Withdrawal by way of a cash withdrawal form
- If Minimum Balance is not maintained, Bank has the discretion to close the a/c and refund the balance after deducting our service charges
- Savings Bank account should be strictly maintained as personal account and not for business transactions.
- Customers to advise change of address promptly.
- Notification to customers will be by post and the last given address will be deemed to be the actual address.
- Customers have to keep track of their accounts and make sure deposits or withdrawals are made periodically once every three months at least in order to keep account operative. Charges will be levied to keep account operative once account becomes inactive.
- For closing an account there will be a fee of SGD10/-
- Bank reserves the right to recover or adjust any incorrect entry to account.
- Customers are requested to check all entries in passbook and will be deemed to be correct if not notified within 14 days.
- For USD accounts, deposits in USD will be subjected to lieu of exchange of 1% and withdrawal in US Dollars depends on the availability of US Dollars with bank.
Cheques can be deposited into these accounts for local clearing / foreign collection.
Current Account
Current Account can be opened either singly or in joint names for Private Individuals. Accounts can also be opened for Private Limited Companies / Partnership / Limited Companies / Societies and Sole Proprietor.Photo Copies of Passport / IC / Employment Pass to be submitted. Original documents should be shown at the time of verification .

- Individuals can open fixed Deposit accounts either singly or in Joint names. Companies and Societies can open fixed Deposits also.
- Photo Copies of Passport / IC / Employment Pass to be submitted. Original documents should be shown at the time of verification
- Deposits can be placed for various periods as prevailing at the time of opening of Deposit account.
- 1% penalty will be levied for premature closure of the Deposit.
- Change of address should be communicated promptly.
- Notification to customers will be by post and the last given address will be deemed to be the actual address.
- For USD accounts, deposits in USD currency will be subjected to levy of exchange of 1% and withdrawal in US Dollars depends on the availability of US Dollars with bank.
- Guarantee letter against Fixed Deposits for child education available on request at a fee. Statements for Income Tax purpose also available at a fee.
- Receipts will be given the next working day and can be requested to be collected by hand or posted.

Non-Resident Savings and Term Deposit accounts in rupees in various branches in India can be opened through us. Guidance for remittances and account opening will be provided at our Branch. Minimum INR1000/- for opening a NRE/NRO Savings Account and INR10,000/- for opening a Deposit Account. Two passport size photographs and photocopy of Employment Pass / Work Permit / Passport / IC are required. The original documents are to be submitted for verification. A highly attractive product with option and high interest rate allowing you to place funds and avail the benefit of higher interest rate on your funds by choosing to receive proceeds on maturity in any of the agreed currencies. You can place funds in any major currency (Minimum US$ 100,000 or equivalent) for a specified period at an agreed interest rate and an agreed conversion rate. At that time you will also mention alternate currency in which you choose to accept the funds in case of Bank exercising the option on the date of maturity.
