Hyderabad, Feb 23 (INN): Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan on Tuesday denied that he had harassed a lecturer working in a private engineering college to settle scores over a land dispute.
 
Krishna Mohan told newsmen at the Assembly Point on Tuesday that the charge that he had implicated the couple in an SC/ST atrocities case to settle scores over a private dispute is baseless and untrue. He said some persons with vested interests, who wanted to tarnish his image, were behind such baseless allegations.

He said he was ready to face any probe instituted by the Government. He urged the Government to order a CBI probe into the issue.

According to the couple -- Srinivas and Dhanalakshmi, the MLA’s brother was trying to encroach upon their house and threatening to implicate Srinivas in criminal cases for resisting attempts under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Following a complaint lodged by the couple, the State Human Rights Commission on Monday directed the district police to probe the case and submit a report within two days.
